Take Action

Earlier this year, AIDS Healthcare Foundation approached Assemblymember Richard Bloom to introduce AB 1506, a bill to repeal the Costa-Hawkins Rental Housing Act, which has long been recognized as a key driver in the current housing affordability crisis. We are disappointed that the bill did not even receive a hearing during the 2017 legislative session.

With a supermajority in the legislature, it is clear that repealing the bill is a matter of political will for the Democrats, and not a matter of political power. Take action and urge the legislature to repeal Costa-Hawkins by passing AB 1506 when they reconvene in January.
